Values in the Family

“Chosen family’s values should keep their essence but should be in constant re-interpreting, according to the contemporary challenge.”
Exploring how negative behaviour patterns transmitted through values by a first generation, can have an impact on the second generation and the subsequent.Values are manifested in norms, words and actions; they can become a key element, conscious or unconscious, in the building of the next generation’s personality.

The purpose of my thesis has been to prove that negative pattern can become a “phantom legacy” and could have some negative impact on the family members or the family’s dynamic.
Professors Haidt and Graham consider that: the universal Values are “Care, Liberty, Loyalty, Authority, Fairness, Sanctity.”They are  the common values of the entire human race, beyond the factor of race, religion, space, time and faith.

Every family consciously or unconsciously chose to follow some Values that they consider important to their philosophy of life. Let’s call them “the chosen values.” Through my research and expertise we have established a method to help the member of the family or the family itself to become aware of the mechanism affecting his chosen Values.
We then work with the members to give them the tools to act on their Values while keeping their essence; adapting them to the contemporary needs in the respect of every member’s aspirations. We work on communication skills, on shifting rules into guideline and on how to keep a genuine balance in the family’s dynamic.


All this takes place in a safe space, non-judgmental, and non-directive in order to give each member a fair chance to express himself without hurting anyone and to improve the family’s core dynamic.
